Texas Bling! 11/05/2009

I can remember when I flew for American Airlines how I laughed (under my breath) at the "bling" that Texas flight attendants loved.  I was a California girl happy wearing my flip flops and tank tops on my layovers.  "Those Texas girls" were all about leapord prints, diamond jubees and rhinestones; the flashier the better.  When I moved to Texas I can remember very clearly telling some friends back home "hit me over the head with a frying pan if I get caught up in all the Texas bling".

Anyone have a frying pan handy?  I need to be whacked.  It took me about two years  to stop laughing and start converting "to the other side".  I am not sure if it helped having a pre-school daughter who loved all things "sparkly" but now I love flashy, sparkly, "blingy" jewelry, belts, and clothes.  At least I never bought "the bedazzler".  Remember that infommercial with the rhinestones and the "thinga majigg" that stuck them onto your jeans, t-shirts, etc. ?   Never say never.

Between you and me, I question myself at how easily I got sucked into the Texas culture, hmmm.  Can you just imagine what is going to happen to me in Paris?  I will come home sporting a pixie cut, a major attitude, a slender physique, and an air of dignity.  Ha, who am I kidding.  (Although, I already have a major attitude.)

I thought I would share with you some of my favorite "bling" purchases........
