Otis 10/07/2009

We rescued Otis from a local Pug Rescue organization last year.  Max and Sophie love animals and were begging us for a cat and dog for years.  We finally conceded and we found our loveable, exciteable, hungry, social, willful, little pug Otis.

He was supposed to be Maxwells dog but it seems that he has taken a liking to me.  (I think it is because I am the one who is always cooking in the kitchen and the boy is crazy about food).  I have never seen anything like it.  He knows when it is "feeding time" and spins around in circles waiting for one of us to dump that cup of kibble into his bowl.

Unfortunately, it looks like we can't bring Otis to Paris with us.  I've not found any apartments that allow pets.  Ugh.  (I see dogs all over Paris, what's up with that)?  We need to find him a great home so now I am soliciting the help from you all.  If anyone is interested in taking care of our Otis while we are away, please let me know.

He is 3 1/2 years old and a great dog who loves to be around people.  He is wonderful with children.  I mean amazing.  He loves his walks, he loves to run around and play with the kids, he tolerates the pool, he will be your shadow and follow you around everywhere.  He is not a barker as a rule.  He does not get "freaked out" by storms,  thunder or fireworks. He loves to ride in the car, he loves to wear costumes (he is going to be a bumble bee for Halloween this year).  He loves playing with other dogs, big or small, he is good with cats too.  He is very healthy but you have to be careful about overfeeding him.  We have often commented  "what would happen if we just dumped the enormous bag of dog food on the ground............would he ever stop eating"?

On the flip side; he sheds, he is sneaky and stubborn.  It took us about 9 months to get him house trained.  This from an owner (Dan) who  trained bomb dogs for years.

He is a doll and I pray that we can find someone to care for him.  If you want a companion who will love you unconditionally and spin around when they see you, Otis is the dog for you.  I will be more than happy to deliver him to your door step if you live out of state.
