La Poste 02/15/2010
Well, that was easier than I thought. I had to mail off some bills at our local post office this morning. I remember reading in all of my books how dreadful the post office was; having to stand in line forever, everyone closing in on you. Things have changed in France. They now have about five automated machines, that weigh your letters/packages and spits out your stamps. I was pleasantly surprised to see a button on the automated machine in English. Yes! It was a breeze. I just hope that I filled the French checks out properly. They are different than the US and I am crossing my fingers. There are a number of mailboxes within the post office for different zip codes. As I checked and double checked I dropped the letters in praying that they get to the correct location. One more small "first" crossed off my list. Piece of cake! CommentsMon, 15 Feb 2010 03:33:59 You sound like you are getting on well now. I hope every "first" you achieve helps you feel more like you are fitting in better to your new life. Mon, 15 Feb 2010 04:20:15 And everything happens at the post office! I don't ever remember hearing that the post office was a horrible experience. I have been in several and although the wait can be a bit, people are usually helpful. Leave a Reply |
