Pushing on..... 07/09/2010
I don't have a lot of time to mope when there is so much to do. Sorry to say that I somehow squeeze it in. Still tired and struggling but I can see signs of my funk lifting. We are taking inventory of the apartment and meeting with moving companies for our air and boat shipment, canceling utilities and cell phones, speaking with our relocation company who is taking care of notifying our landlord and the government that we are leaving the country, meeting with accountants to finalize paperwork for our french and US taxes next year, arranging the final walk-through with our landlord, telephoning and meeting with our bank to cancel our accounts, completing insurance claim forms from more Dr. visits from our family, changing our payroll to be deposited into our US account beginning in August, in constant contact with our realtor who is working overtime trying to find us a home with a six month lease (so far we have had two houses agree to a lease and then back out), checking out furniture rental companies for our imaginary home (we are not going to get our furniture out of storage until Jan when we move into the home we own), checking out appliance company to rent washer/dryer and refrigerator, looking into corporate housing as a last resort, in contact with the childrens school who are trying to work with us and around the state laws for applicants and residency, looking into two automobiles to purchase, reserving hotels for the last night in Paris (we are not allowed in apartment after final walk through), booking hotel in Southlake for the day we arrive, setting up rental cars when we arrive until we can purchase our own cars.......and the list goes on. I look forward to the evenings where it cools off a bit and I can try to rest my mind. **Images from our bedrooms looking at apartments behind us. CommentsHillary Fri, 09 Jul 2010 07:03:38 WOW!! I can't believe all that you need to do just to come back. Well it should go smoothly because it's the path that God wants you to take. Praying for you guys and the new adventures back in the States. Laura Fri, 09 Jul 2010 08:41:58 Gina, Nicole Fri, 09 Jul 2010 11:32:32 Take a deep breath and lay it at the Master's feet. It's a long list and God knows already that all of those things need to get done and they will! Praying for you guys! Fri, 09 Jul 2010 13:03:02 Sounds hectic. I'm sure you'll miss Paris once you're gone. Terrific that you had the time and experience you had. Sat, 10 Jul 2010 02:44:59 I'm so irritated and annoyed for you since I caught up on what's happening. Don't they realise they are messing with a family? You have worked so hard to make things smooth for your kids and for Dan and now you have to go through all this relocating sooner than planned. You are so patient. I am a great believer in things happening for a reason. It just takes a little time and a few hundred repetitions to get it to sound believable. I'm sure you will do a great job as always smoothing things over. Just remember we are here if you need to scream a little...! Aunt Sally Sat, 10 Jul 2010 21:58:50 Hey sweet girl, you make my head spin. I can only imagine how yours feels. I hope your weekend at the shore fills your spirit and soul with peace, that you can find a stillness and feel God's hand in yours as he walks with you through all of this. Me, I'm sending you my love and hugs. Leave a Reply |
