It's hard to know where to begin in regards to Kerfany and our beach house rental.  I will have to blog numerous posts to help you get a "feel" for this slice of heaven.

Our drive from Paris took about six hours.  We left gray skies and slowly entered the Brittany sun.   The drive was beautiful, everything was so lush and green.  We finally made it to the Brittany region and drove through sleepy beach towns, winding our way closer to the coast.

The excitement was building as we could see on our GPS that the coast was near and our beach house even nearer.  All at once, our car turned a curve and before us were diamonds dancing on the turquoise blue water.  Everyone screamed (excluding Dan),  we made a quick turn into a narrow alleyway and then another turn into our small driveway.  The gravel crunched as we entered.  We turned to the right and saw the ocean welcoming us along with a beautiful yard and home.

All of us scattered throughout the house, searching this room and that.  The lower level housed a large kitchen with a huge table, the middle level had the living room and two bedrooms along with a bathroom, and the top level had three more bedrooms and another bathroom.  All of the front rooms had beautiful views looking out onto the ocean.

The yard was the biggest hit, the kids played and played while Dan and I ran to the market to stock the fridge.

The excitement of seven days stretched out before us in this sleepy little beach town made our hearts sing.

I wanted to let ya'll know that we are back in Paris.  We drove in this afternoon.

I can't wait to show photo's of Kerfany les Pines on the Brittany coast.  It was a slice of heaven; paradise.  Truly, an unbelievable week.

Once I unpack, finish up the laundry, go through the mail, figure out what we are having for dinner..........ha.......I will post some photos.  Bon weekend!

We are driving to Moellan-sur-mer this morning.  It is a six hour drive from Paris.  I don't believe the home has internet so if you don't hear from me for a week, then you will know that we did not have internet service.

You can picture us sleeping in, making our coffee, walking out to the back porch, watching the tide, the kids running around in the grass, climbing trees, then searching the sand for seashells and sea creatures, flying kites.....you get the picture.

I hope you are able to enjoy your family on Father's Day.  Dan will be showered with love and kisses.  To my Dad, I am sending hugs to you from afar.  "I love you past love" and can't wait until I get to see you again.  Please know how very loved and cherished you are!

Aunt Sally is on her way home to California as I type, Mom and the rest of us are home packing for our trip to the coast tomorrow.

We found a beautiful home to rent on the Brittany coast (through a french friend).  We are beyond excited about living in a house with a yard for an entire week.  Throw in that it sits along the oceans edge and we are beside ourselves.

These pictures are from our friends vacation last June at the house.  Isn't it dreamy???

We were secretly hoping Aunt Sally's flight would cancel and she would have to join us at the beach house, but alas, no such luck.......

Funny how we are finally showing Sally the Eiffel Tower the day before she leaves.  She has seen bits and pieces of it all week but today she was able to enjoy all of it.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Luxemburg Gardens.  It was cool, crisp and quiet.

The kids needed a day to unwind at home with Grandma, so Sally and I headed out to explore Paris.

Our first stop was the Flower Market.  She is a gardener through and through and enjoyed roaming the beautiful stalls........

We strolled the river Seine and then made our way to the Saint Germaine area.  It seemed as if everyone was enjoying the weather, sitting at their bistro tables watching the world go by........

We ended the day admiring the Pont Alexander III bridge, the prettiest bridge in all of Paris (in my opinion)............

What a gift to spend an entire afternoon with my Aunt.  I am learning more and more about her as each day goes by.  I admire her perspective on life, her heart and her love for her family.

It was such a treat to walk and not have to keep looking back to make sure my little chicks were following me, thanks Mom for loving on them all afternoon.......

We spent our Sunday in the gardens of Versailles.  Beauty surrounded us, classical music was piped in throughout the gardens as we wandered the grounds.

It feels so unbelievably good to be together again, running and chasing after one another, listening to each other, "breaking" bread together.

We sat on the grass eating our lunch, watching the row boats glide by.....

Once the kids were fed and had a bit of energy they spent a good portion of the afternoon wrestling with Dad........

I'm not sure who was having more fun.........

I think the statues were cracking a smile looking down on all the fun......

When we bring love and sunshine into the lives of others, we are warmed by it ourselves.......  When we spill a little bit of happiness, it splashes on us.

Love and kindness are forever being poured onto all of us and we are all drenched from "the splash".
